A tragedy of the first order

I lost at Zombies!

I had 19; needed 25 to win. Then James and Adam flew off in the helicopter. Am sad.

Thoughts on karate, now that I've actually had a couple of sessions: Everybody should be in an activity that requires doing something they have never done before and have no guarantee they'll be even remotely good at, with a whole bunch of people (including people you'd rather look good in front of) watching, at least twice a week. (Especially if it makes noise.) Actually, looking goofy in front of people is probably something everybody should do once a day. It's very liberating, and unlike alcohol, it actually makes you a stronger person instead of just killing your liver.

Unless you do it wrong, in which case it gives you whiplash.

This will be good for me on so many levels. If I can become comfortable appearing in front of people wearing all white, then I will be able to do anything.

Is it bad that I've started going through life asking "What would Oscar Wilde do?"? I don't think it makes much of a practical difference, since the answer is usually "Say something vastly cleverer than I could ever come up with," but still. Someday I will be a good dandy. Someday.
