I just finished watching Lone Wolf and Cub 2: Baby Cart at the River Styx, which I would put on my reviewing-things journal, except I do not have much of a review. I really liked it! I particularly liked the evil lady ninjas. Also the special effects are hilariously cheesy. And the baby is adorable.

My brain is dead, so I'm just going to go back to reading this book on whaling that I started reading yesterday. (It's like an April Fools joke I played on myself. I'm not sure what else I could have been thinking.) (It is actually really interesting, though!)

It IS awesome! I want to read the series...but I've heard that most of the female characters are not awesomely badass and I will be upset by the majority of scenes with women in them.

I will work on viewing it as a historical thing and try not to be ultra pissed off.

Let me know how that goes! I didn't know there was a series, but now I am very intrigued, except that I have a whole stack of feminist texts that I ought to have read years ago for next time I have the energy to deal with trying not to get too pissed off. *eyes untouched copy of Backlash*

I will probably stick with the movies for now because books, while overall my favorite medium of anything, do not have cheesy blood-squirting special effects.
