*murders helpless stockings*
Oct. 24th, 2003 04:54 pmI killed two pairs of tights in the last hour or so. *insane giggle*
They're still useful. Just not as normal stockings.
So... because of Eddy wearing argyle sleeves made from ex-argyle-tights today, I was reminded that I'd been meaning to convert my fishnet stockings that I never wear anyway into fishnet shirtsleeves so I didn't have to spend $20 on an actual fishnet shirt. So did that, and was happy.
Second pair of tights killed because of show band tonight; wanted to wear them under pants so will not completely freeze ass off. Tights slightly too short in leg, so cut legs off and am wearing them as thi-his. Now will hopefully not completely die.
This amuses me way more than it should... I mean, I haven't touched tights of any kind in a long time...
Something else that randomly amused me:
We've been watching Antigone in English class; the movie's in Greek with (rather bad) English subtitles. The only word I've been able to make out in the Greek dialogue are various forms of "necro". And so then I realized that both roots in the word "necrophilia" are Greek roots (necrophilia's been a hot conversation topic lately...),and wondered what the word would be if we'd decided to use Latin roots instead... I know next to no Latin, but do know a fair deal of French and Spanish and English, so starting thinking about it anyway.
Most words having to do with death in English tend to start with mor- or mort-, and the French word for "death" is mort(e). French verb "to like/love" is aimer, noun "love" is amour; Spanish and Latin "I love you" are both te amo. I know the te is object pronoun or somesuch, haven't done that kind of verb much yet in Spanish, and then amo is first person conjugation and so infinitive would be along the lines of *amer or somesuch... I have to admit I don't actually know... but when you stick it all together you get something disturbingly close to the name Mortimer, which is an actual name. And so then I rather wanted to write a story about a necrophiliac named Mortimer, but don't have any other inspiration for it whatsoever, so sold that plotbunny to Eddy and am hoping she can find a corresponding muse.
Um, yeah... random stuff is amusing me... and I'm all happy that Eliana the psycho bitch has been expelled from Thalia's school... *dances and revels in vindictive glee* Oh, and we're starting a GSL at school. I v. happy.
Am glad am happy again, if only momentarily, because yesterday I started the day in a bad mood, and it was one of those bad moods that I just needed to be distracted from by doing work or somesuch, and we didn't do any work all god damn day, so I ended up in such a pit of depression that I couldn't focus on anything at all. But then I had crew, and got rather high off of wood stain fumes, and had more conversations about necrophilia and such. It's absolutely astounding how often that comes up...
And now must go prepare to freeze my ass off at show band. Yay.
