Jesus freaking Christ.
Sep. 25th, 2006 04:52 pmUm. So. Ended up coming back up to Clark on Sunday--hitched a ride with Sam and her roommate and another girl from Madtown who goes to Clark, all of whom had come down for the weekend for Rosh Hashanah (sp?). Wake is actually today and funeral tomorrow--when I have three classes, a discussion, and a UU meeting that the roomies are going to and apparently I am coming as well. So, no maternal side of family after all.
Started Facebook campaign group in support of staggering the drinking age, rather than keeping the current practice of trying to find the proper arbitrary number of years to make the drinking age so as not to have the inevitable chaos and mayhem that comes with letting dumb young people go from zero to a hundred re: mind-altering substances literally overnight. THERE IS NO PROPER DRINKING AGE. People just need to be taught that alcohol is dangerous, not just Alcohol Is Bad Until Your (x)th Birthday And Then You're Fine.
I am ultimately for legalizing everything and banning advertising for all mind-altering substances and prescription drugs, but you can't just pull out all the stops in a rule-driven society and expect the result to be anything but utter chaos. So let's take baby steps, shall we?
