Yesterday was possibly the most fun day of my life.

Went to the New York Renaissance Faire yesterday with Ella, Moody, Mini-Moody, Moody Sr., EV, Mikey, Mrs. Joyce, Chris, and Beky, and was joined at five-ish by Matt & parental units. It was... just... *dies happily* I wish I'd brought more money. I could easily spend a fortune there and consider none of it wasted.

As it is, I spent about sixty bucks, because I bought bracers, pentacle necklace, silver claddaugh ring (to which I say, FINALLY!), and lunch.

I seem to have started a trend with the bracers. I got pretty little black leather ones with silver studs ($18), then Ella bought identical ones except with gold/brassy/generally not silver studs, then Chris bought significantly larger and more expensive ones in a different style altogether which look very spiffy, and when Matt arrived he bought bracers as well, which, IIRC, are somewhat in between mine and Chris' in both style and size.

I wore my heeled boots there. Was informed that that would be much of a mistake, but I said I'd be fine. And I was. It was just nine hours walking/striding over uneven pavement in high-heeled boots at the end of August. I was actually fine for most of the day until I got home and took my shoes off--that was when I discovered my feet really killed and I could barely walk. It's going to take me a week to recover from this thing. (And I need that week to break in my bracers so they don't kill my wristbones, so it all works out.)

Chris, Beky, and Moody all got staffs--they're very uberspiffy. Chris also got a dagger ("non-sharp pointy object"), towards the end of the day so he could put it in Matt's backpack and thus avoid trouble with parent.

*giggles* Matt wore my skirt with the buckles. He did not actually wear it _to_ the Ren Faire, on orders from father, but changed into black clothing and out of normal clothing at the Faire. (In that order. Ella and I taught him the most useful and esteemed feminine art of changing clothing by putting on clothing on top of the outfit you're already wearing and then taking off the clothing underneath.) Oh, and my skirt with buckles fits him, which means I should be able to get away with buying men's jeans next time I go to the mall. Huzzah!

Ella wore one of my skirts too--knee-length pleather one that just doesn't fit me. I'll give it to her.

After a very long and eventful day in which we had many lovely conversations with the people working there, and were also very much harassed by them, and in which I heard more bad bawdy jokes in one day than I'd heard in the past month, we went back to the Jacobyhouse and pretty much just crashed. We endeavored to have a semi-intelligent conversation for awhile, until we got onto the topic of being able to think clearly but not quickly, which led into talking about problems with one-on-one arguments, and then Moody made some comment about being "better at mass debating". I don't believe anyone said an intelligent word all night after that. Conversation was either about very small things so that it doesn't count as conversation ("Is your arm falling asleep?", etc.), or more bad bawdy jokes, as if we hadn't heard enough from the pickle vendors. (IIRC, roughly ninety percent of bawdy comments were courtesy of Moody. *thwack*)

Oh, and going back to Friday night, Ella is allowed to Jacobyhouse now. It was highly amusing--she and Moody had a "wuv affair", which is basically a not-completely-platonic snugglefest between two people who tells themselves it's completely platonic because they're just friends, but it doesn't matter much either way because nothing really happens. It doesn't count as cheating on D, because wuv is meant to be spread liberally, but we're still not going to tell him about it. Don't we make SO much sense. [/sarcasm] I just hope it doesn't cause any major mental torture in anyone. Apparently, these things tend to. (Stupidstupidstupid, but nevertheless true.)

And now, I must continue snarking my way through my science homework.
