Aug. 24th, 2006 08:13 amI could totally get used to this.
Dorms are fairly spacious. I have a double, which is somewhat bigger than the triple I had in Saint-Malo. Beds are quite high, which means lots of storage space underneath them, and rather squeaky, which I'm sure I'll get used to. Dorm has carpet. Is nubbly sort of basement carpet and is sort of grayish-brown, but is still a vast vast improvement over dorms with white linoleum floors. Because linoleum sucks. And having your floor surface a different color than the walls and cieling is love; the actual colors don't matter, just so you don't feel like you're living in a box. (I am continually astounded at how many people do not understand this... like the previous owners of my house... wtf.)
On the other hand, I still do not have shower sandals because I did not buy flipflops when everyone else did, so I am rather not looking forward to taking showers barefoot until I can find flipflops, because that is Teh Gwoss. I mean, there's a *reason* everybody else wears sandals in the shower.
The people here seem rather interesting and are, for the most part, frighteningly super-friendly. Which is good, because neither my roommate nor I are, and so people come talk to us even when we don't go talk to them, which both of us sort of need. Said roommate and I have been getting along very well. Yesterday Tim was amusing himself taking comparative photos of both of our beds (I have black sheets and comforter; Beth has lime green sheets and a white comforter with rows of multicolored dots all over it. Tim was amused).
I don't have to be anywhere until 11h30 for my ISS seminar thing--at the moment the only things going on are various placement tests, none of which I have to take--and don't have to go anything except eat/take a shower/get dressed/usual morning stuff. Which is good because tomorrow I have to meet with my PA group and FA at nine in the morning. *so should not complain about doing stuff at nine in the morning, after two years of zero and all, but is going to anyway*
Iiiii should go take a shower now. Ew.
