It's been a Blind Guardian sort of day so far. I have actually done little else but clean, but Blind Guardian makes cleaning into an epic experience. Also, I have a lot of cleaning to do as the house gets dirtier even faster with so many additional teenagers.

It feels like there is something unneccesarily '50s about vacuuming in a short skirt and high heels, even when there is nobody to see me. Oh well. Short skirt in question has Christopher Condent's pirate flag on it (the three jawless skulls and crossbones... possibly my favorite pirate flag ever), so I'll be damned if I'm trading it in for pants.

Power metal just makes life so much better. And only Blind Guardian can write a song called "When Sorrow Sang" and have it make me want to get up and dance like no dance music ever does.

Actually, that's not quite true. Nightwish can do similar things.

In other Nightwish news, they have announced their new singer! Her name is Annette (I think?). Go look it up for yourself. They also announced that the first show on their fall tour in Springfield is sold out already, so I guess I will have to keep watch for when tickets for the Worcester show go on sale so I can actually get them... I'd forgotten that Nightwish will probably be a significantly bigger deal than Blind Guardian because Nightwish hasn't toured in the US in forever because of Tarja's... um... attitude.

Vaguely on the topic of epic things (I know, I'm stretching it... I needed a segue...), "At World's End" comes out tomorrow. Showing start... at 8h00 today? This is so awesome. So that's one of my three major wait-for dates for the summer already here. Yay! The other two, in case you were wondering, are the release of the seventh Harry Potter book on 21 July, and the release of Fairies of Dreamdark: Blackbringer on 21 June. I just have to check that Mom actually preordered it for me. I'll let you know if it's any good.

Just because I'm feeling so power-metal-y, I leave you with a special treat stolen from the Folk Metal Grove Facebook group:

The 101 Epic Rules of Power Metal )

The Epic Sequel to the 101 Epic Rules of Power Metal )

I'm going to go continue cleaning things now. Have an epic day!
