I am glad to help share the pain! There is lots of pain involved in reading this book, largely from repeated headdesking; it must be shared to be bearable.
I hate Marius/Cosette so much. I thought they were useless and boring in the musical, and the musical is actually GOOD because it's only the story and not all the random crap stuffed in around it, but in the book it is just so much worse because they are JUST as useless and boring but at SUCH greater length.
Best of luck with the last 7% of the book! It is... frustrating.
