What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Got in a car accident. Lived in an apartment. Bartended.

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember my new year's resolution from last year. This year, we're going to work on sparring. A lot.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Um. I think some aunts and cousins. But I'm not all that close with most of my family anymore, so I don't remember which ones.

Did anyone close to you die?
No, although two of Clark's professors did.

What countries did you visit?
None. :(

What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Emotional stability.

What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
18 May, 23 August, 19 November. The car accident was November 26th but I manage to keep forgetting the date. Go figure.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
At the moment, pulling off an A- in Litterature et Identite dans la Caraibe Francophone feels pretty big.

What was your biggest failure?
Highway driving, apparently. *shame* Also, I lost Tony's friendship, it looks like permanently this time.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
Only minor. Which is pretty miraculous, all things considered.

What was the best thing you bought?
Um. Not sure; I buy a lot of crap.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
America, for voting Democrat, FINALLY.

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Lots of people's, mine included.

Where did most of your money go?
Books, food/drink, rent for the summer, movies, occasionally clothes.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting a car (although how often this got postponed was irritating). Moving into an apartment. Certain parties. The release of the Twilight movie. :P

What song will always remind you of 2008?
Uh... I dunno, really.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
Sadder... but less depressive. I was in a bit of a state around this time last year.
b) thinner or fatter?
Thinner. Yay for taking up running :)
c) richer or poorer?
Richer. Being employed helps a lot with shit like that.

What do you wish you'd done more of?
My schoolwork, last spring semester. Learning driving (as opposed to just going out and doing it).

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Schoolwork, this past semester. Sleeping. Feeling lonely and/or jealous.

Did you fall in love in 2008?
No; continued from '07.

What was your favorite TV program?
True Blood. Got way into back episodes of BSG, Dexter, Firefly, and Buffy, though.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, but only by a matter of weeks.

What was the best book you read?
I've read so many awesome books this year! o.O Um... The Perks of Being a Wallflower is up there, Cold Comfort Farm was awesome, Charlaine Harris' books were a great find, The Monk cracked me up... A Vindication of the Rights of Woman was great... now I wish I'd done a 100 Book Challenge this year; I'd have had them all written down >.<

What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm ashamed to say it was probably Abba.

What did you want and get?
Tony's friendship back (except then I lost it). A car (except then I broke it). A job, an apartment, and better grades this semester (still have those).

What did you want and not get?
If you don't know this, you don't need to.

What was your favorite film of this year?
Uh. That came out this year? Dark Knight and Iron Man were both pretty awesome...

What did you do on your birthday?
Had a weird dream, went to class, cleaned things, went to dinner with Dad and drank pomegranate margaritas, came back to the haus and had cake and vodka.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Tony not cutting me completely out of his life. (Yes, I know I whine about this a lot. This is because it upsets me a lot.)

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Keeping my friends on their toes with strategically timed acquisitions of normal-people clothing (I bought sandals for the first time in five years!)

What kept you sane?
Exercise. And movies. And periodic withdrawal into ultra-hermityness.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
*shrug*

What political issue stirred you the most?
Sarah Palin's inability to name babies. :P

Who did you miss?
Lots of people. Especially these past few months, where I haven't had time to do anything.

Who was the best new person you met?
Hrm. Technically I met Shayna near the end of last year. So... Idunno, I met a whole bunch of people in 08 but haven't become that close to any of them.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
Even very momentary lapses in focus/judgment/whatever can have really serious consequences that will bite you in the ass for God knows how long.
Also: you can, in fact, base your ENTIRE social life upon vampires without knowing a single Goth. ;)

Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
I'm blanking. I'll add something if I think of it later.
