Rant-y picking apart of review! Yay!

Hello.I found your webpage off of moondancer's review list,and couldn't help but notice your bio.
I have to disagree with you on several points, for instance, I am a Republican, beleive that President Bush is a Godsend, am a hardcore Christian, and beleive that reincarnation and evolution are two of the most absurd/childish beliefs known to man. Also, I have to say, you spend too much time on description instead of the story. Well I must finish my homework so, tata.
Amusingly enough, it's from someone calling herself "Elf Reader". But anyway, she gave me no way to contact her, and does not seem to be a registered author with any stories up. So I can't send her a reply, so I'll put it here. And since it's my LJ, I can post whatever I wish and not address it specifically to her, which means I don't have to be uber-polite and can say what's on my mind. Whee!
Ahem. Anyway, am doing this point-by-point MST-style, 'cos that's fun.

I have to say, and probably shouldn't, that that probably depends on what characterization of God you're going by. While Jews, Christians, and Muslims all are supposed to worship the same nice and benevolent God, the characterization is often contradictory, and rather mean to us ickle girlses. Keep in mind that I have not had the patience to get through the Bible, and thus have not read the whole thing, usually giving up in a fit of "I can read something that makes more sense than this!" I instead end up reading books written *about* the Bible. (Am currently in the middle of "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalists", which is amusing.)
Erm. Anyway, you have not yelled at me for disliking Bush, which is a good thing, as I'm used to general "You're not fit to walk the Earth" type statements. So thank you for being polite.

Very interesting. Reincarnation I can understand, even though I personally think it's really cool. But evolution? I mean, I thought there was scientific proof that species change over time... hm, maybe I've been over-educated... oh, wait. No such thing. Never mind, then. *shrugs* You people confuse me, so we'll just have to agree to not understand each other's mindsets in the least.

I know; I'm trying to knock it off. I just like description. *sigh* See, I do muchly more writing on the PPC fic than Ella, and she writes more just telling the story. I describe, describe, describe, and never get to the plot. I'm working on it.

Yeah, hardcore Christians are weird. Personally, I have no religious conviction whatsoever, just a VERY VERY strong connection to my people and my heritage (whose history and literature goes hand in hand with the religion, so that I can't take one and reject the other, poopie poopie). I personally believe in evolution, and I don't see how evolution contradicts with the Bible; if God's almighty, he could have engineered evolution pretty easily, and it just requires a few poetic-license 'tweaking' commentaries of Genesis. (There are a *lot* of Jewish texts like that.)
