Got "Oh My Goth! v. 2.0" yesterday under pretense of being birthday gift, even though bought it myself and it just arrived at a convenient time. Is uber amusing. Have finished it already (as is *very* easy read), and will gladly lend it to you, Moody, but I absolutely must have it back by the end of Thanksgiving weekend. *is possessive*
Got idea for fanfic whilst trying to go to sleep last night (knew there was a reason I'd stopped eating sugar right before I went to bed). Would be the third HP vampire fic idea I've come up with since I first discovered fanfiction; however, I think this would actually be a decent one because the vampire character would not attempt to attend Hogwarts. It is slightly inspired by H. P. Lovecraft's The Shunned House--or at least, the concept of a vampire sleeping beneath the house is. One of the scenes that began playing in my mind was also inspired, if not downright based off of, The Rats in the Walls. I'm quite glad I discovered Lovecraft; I believe he's a rather good influence on my writing ("You are what you read"?). I'm going to try to actually make an outline for this so I don't end up either having it fizzle out or having it go in the wrong direction. I may need Ella's help; I don't usually outline stories. (I personally feel Ella's main writing strength is the ability to write random scenes out of order. In her Mala storyline, she has scenes written from many different time periods in the character's life. This seems to give the story direction and allows her to keep writing when having trouble with one section. I never do that; it's probably a great weakness of mine.)
