Milford Music Festival Disrupted for Bogus Search

MILFORD, Pa- A highly anticipated event in Pike County was brought to an early end tonight because of a report that a 3-year-old girl attending the event went missing. The missing girl, however, apparently never existed.

Reports at this time are sketchy because the search was called off only moments ago.

Apparently, a 3-year-old girl was reported missing by a relative. The show grounded to a halt with The New Riders of the Purple Stage onstage as an all-out search ensued.

The girl was said to have went missing at about 8:00 P.M.. Sometime after 10:00 P.M., someone associated with the woman came forward to call off the effort.

Tri State News actually posted the “missing girl” story several minutes before the search was abruptly cancelled. We pulled the story immediately. We have no other information at this time but will keep you posted.

Am less pissed off at NRPS in retrospect, as they were under contract to keep playing (at the moment it was just like "... YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME"), but still think the reaction was handled quite badly.

And will somebody please lock "the girl's mother" up for the rest of eternity and feed her whatever drugs are necessary to bring her back to planet Earth enough to prevent her from fucking around with serious threats like that ever again?
